*YOGA AND ANIMAL ETHICS*
ISKCON Hong Kong
March 4, 2026
In this inspiring lecture HH Krishna Kshetra Swami (Dr. Kenneth R. Valpey) explores the profound connection between the practice of yoga and our moral responsibility toward animals.
Drawing from his most recent book, _Yoga and Animal Ethics_, the author explains how the deeper principles of yoga—attention, discipline, spiritual understanding, and self-transformation—can help us rethink our relationship with animals and the natural world. He also discusses how these teachings speak directly to the environmental and ethical challenges facing modern society.
The lecture also introduces his earlier work, _Cow Care in Hindu Animal Ethics_, which examines the spiritual and cultural foundations of compassion toward cows and animals within the Hindu tradition.
This session is an invitation to rediscover our spiritual identity and to cultivate greater compassion, responsibility, and empathy toward all living beings.
